Peer support fills an important void in the breast cancer and high risk communities, allowing women to connect with others who have walked the path before and share stories of how to cope and find new hope.
Willow offers workshops throughout Canada that provide women who have had a breast cancer diagnosis or are high risk (BRCA1/2) with the skills and tools they need to start and sustain community-based peer support: both as Facilitators (support groups) and Community Outreach Volunteers (one-on-one situations).
Willow is also conducting a survey targeting the South Asian community in an effort to understand some of the beliefs of the South Asian community around breast health and breast cancer. Please take a few moments to fill out the survey here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Willow-Survey.
