The Safety, Licensing Appeals and Standards Tribunals Ontario (SLASTO) has a challenging and interesting opportunity for those interested in an adjudicative appointment. SLASTO resolves and decides matters arising from over 30 statutes relating to human and animal protection, public safety and public interest.
SLASTO is seeking Members, full-time, for the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT), one of SLASTO’s five constituent tribunals. LAT’s specific mandate is to adjudicate applications and resolve disputes concerning compensation claims and licensing activities regulated by several ministries of the provincial government, including those activities that have been delegated to designated administrative authorities.
Appointment for a position is by Order-in-Council for a two year term, subject to renewal for a maximum of 10 years. Application deadline: August 30, 2017.
